What it’s like
Hire a screen by the hour and play consoles, trade Pokémon cards or join a Smash Bros tournament over coffee.
This is a café with over a dozen screens dotted about, and instead of just sitting with a coffee you can ask to hire one with any console or game they have in, or bring your own. Screen hire is £6 an hour, charged in half-hour chunks, so a quick 90 minutes works out at £9 rather than a full hour's rate for the odd extra bit of time.
There's a regular events side too: Pokémon Trainers and Traders sessions for card trading and tournaments, plus Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and fighting game tournaments for anyone who fancies testing themselves against other players. The Pokémon nights have a £3 minimum food and drink spend per person, and the OLL & Nintendo Norwich screen nights are £3 to use a screen all evening plus that same £3 minimum spend, which is a decent deal if you're planning to stay a while.
Hours shift through the week: Wednesdays it's evening only, from 5 till 9, while most other days it opens at 11am, and Sunday closes earlier at 5pm. If you're planning round a specific tournament night it's worth building your visit around that Wednesday evening slot rather than turning up at the usual daytime hours.
It's an indoor spot throughout, so a wet afternoon doesn't put a dent in the plan.
