What it’s like

A sensory storytelling session for babies and toddlers, mixing props, messy play and music into one story.

Each session builds a story around your child rather than just reading one at them. Expect sensory props, messy play and music woven into the storytelling, so a toddler who won't sit still for a picture book still has something to grab, squish or bang along to. It's a small, focused format rather than a soft play free-for-all, which suits the babies and younger toddlers it's aimed at.

Sessions are pay as you go at £10, so there's no block booking to commit to if you just want to try one. That said, you can't simply turn up. You need to message or email first to check there's space on the session you want, which is a bit more faff than booking online but does mean you know you've got a spot before you leave the house.

With an age range of newborn to four, it sits squarely in that pre-school window where messy play and sensory input do a lot of the entertaining. A younger baby will mostly take in the textures and music; a three or four-year-old will get stuck into the storytelling side properly.
