What it’s like

An 18+ live music venue in Cardiff where you catch a gig, eat wood-fired pizza and drink at the bar, with ID checked on the door.

This one's for the grown-ups. It's a live music venue with a licensed bar and a wood-fired pizza oven, and they'll ask for ID from anyone who looks under 25, so it's built around gigs and a proper night out rather than anything for kids.

The format is straightforward: turn up for a show, eat before or during if you fancy it, and settle in at the bar. You can book a table in the music hall to eat between 6pm and 7.45pm before a concert, or just order a pizza on arrival if you haven't booked, as long as you're in before 7.15pm. Worth knowing that seating for the pre-show meal is limited, so if you want to eat before the music starts, that's the bit to sort early rather than hope for the best on the night. No outside food or drink is allowed in, everything's bought at the venue bar.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the show itself gets cancelled, which is a fair enough rule but one to know before you buy, especially if your evening depends on a babysitter turning up. There's an optional cancellation protection you can add if you'd rather not risk it. Parking's a genuine faff too: there's none at the venue itself, disabled or otherwise.

The building itself is accessible, with a ramp at the front and a small step-ramp inside, and the music hall, bar and toilets are all on the ground floor with a disabled toilet close by. If a wheelchair user is in your group, there's a reserved space for concerts, which makes the lack of car parking a bit more frustrating than it needs to be.

Plan your visit

Is this an adults-only venue?

Yes, effectively. ID gets checked on anyone who might be under 25, and it's run as a gig venue with a bar rather than a family show.

Can we book a table for dinner before the show?

You can book between 6pm and 7.45pm, or just turn up and order a pizza before 7.15pm if you haven't reserved. Tables are limited so it's worth sorting ahead if eating is part of your plan.

What's the parking like?

There isn't any at the venue, disabled or otherwise. The laybys by the shops opposite are the best bet, about 50 metres from the door.

What if I need to cancel my ticket?

Tickets aren't refundable unless the show itself is cancelled. There's an optional cancellation protection add-on if you want cover against illness or accidents.

Is the venue accessible?

There's a ramp at the front and a small ramp over the step inside, with the music hall, bar and toilets all on the ground floor. A reserved space is available downstairs for concerts.
