29th Portswood Immaculata Scout Hut

What it’s like

Weekly Scouting groups for ages 4 to 25, split by age from Squirrels right up to Scouts.

This is a Scout hut running the usual ladder of groups, so where your child fits depends entirely on their age. Squirrels (the youngest) meet from 5 to 6pm, Beavers from 6 to 7.30pm, Cubs from 6.30 to 8pm and Scouts from 7 to 9pm, so there's a fair bit of overlap across the evening rather than one single session for everyone.

The site lists Squirrels and Beavers as being for 4 to 8 year olds, which gives you a sense of the age split at the younger end. Older members move up through Cubs and Scouts, with the whole run stretching to 25, so this isn't just a primary school thing, it carries on well into the teenage years and beyond.

It's a straightforward weekly commitment rather than a one-off day out, and you'll want to work out which evening and which group fits your child's age before you turn up. There's no booking link listed, so getting in touch directly is likely your best first step to find a space.
