Zoos & Wildlife Parks in Nottingham
Nottingham itself doesn't have a zoo on the doorstep, so this is really a page about the drive out. Closest is White Post Farm & Zoo out at Farnsfield, from £15, good for any age with tractor-trailer rides and keeper talks. A bit further, Twycross Zoo in Atherstone runs from £21.55 for ages 0 to 16 and mixes animals with soft play and a splash park. Tropical Birdland in Desford has walk-through parrots and flamingos outdoors from £9.45. For free days out, Outwoods in Loughborough has woodland walks and a natural play area, or Market Bosworth Country Park in Nuneaton, though parking there soon adds up. Toddlers do well at White Post Farm's indoor play, while older children get more from Twycross's scale or a longer trip out to Peak Wildlife Park in Leek for lemurs, penguins and polar bears. Rutland Water in Oakham suits anyone happy scanning hides for ospreys rather than chasing rides.
