Climbing & Bouldering Centres in Manchester
Climbing in this part of Greater Manchester means a drive out rather than a walk from the centre, but both options are easy enough to reach. Grip & Go is out in Rossendale, with 24 themed walls for an hour's session from £14, plus a trapeze leap-and-catch if you fancy paying a bit more. The Northwest Face Climbing Centre is a drive out to Warrington, with around fifty climbing lines, a bouldering area, and eight auto belays that let kids climb without a parent holding the rope. For younger children, Grip & Go's age 4+ start makes it the earlier option, while Northwest Face suits kids from six up who can manage more of the wall themselves. Northwest Face is the cheaper way in at £9 and comes with a cafe and parking on site, useful if you're making a day of it. Both are indoor, so rain never gets a vote. If your child is nervous about heights, the auto belays at Northwest Face are worth asking about first.
