Comedy in Leicester

Comedy nights proper are thin on the ground here, but Leicester has two places doing something in that spirit for younger audiences. The Little Theatre, about a kilometre from the centre, is a youth theatre for 8 to 18 year olds, with drama training and pantomime through the year for £5 upwards, plus a cafe on site if you need a sit down after. Attenborough Arts Centre, a little further out, runs Sunday drop-in workshops that are free to join and lean more towards art than stand-up, but they are a good laugh for kids who want to make things rather than just watch. If your child is older and keen on performing, the £5 entry at The Little Theatre buys structured training and a proper stage. If you have got a younger one who just wants to potter about and get involved, the free Sunday sessions at Attenborough Arts Centre are the easier, lower stakes option, and both have accessible toilets on site.
