The Picture of Dorian Gray: A New Musical

A new sung-through musical adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, at Blackpool Grand for one night.

This gothic new musical brings Oscar Wilde's 1890 novel to the stage, following Dorian Gray, a wealthy young man whose wish for eternal youth is granted while his portrait absorbs the marks of every selfish act and secret he commits. Inspired by the dark, large-scale musicals of the 1970s and 80s, it unfolds across two acts set twenty years apart as Dorian's charm curdles into obsession and consequence finally catches up with him. This is a one-off Blackpool performance, giving audiences a chance to see an original musical early in its life. Expect a sung-through score and a tone that leans theatrical and dark rather than light family fare, so it suits adults and teenagers drawn to gothic drama more than younger children.
