A day of live knitting, netting and lacemaking demonstrations at Sheringham Museum for International Gansey Day.

Sheringham Museum marks International Gansey Day with textile groups including the East Anglia Gansey Group, Norfolk Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers, Norfolk Lacemakers, Propagansey, Sheringham Seascape Embroidery, The Gansey of Inclusivity and Netmaking all giving live demonstrations and running drop-in workshops. The museum holds a large collection of fishermen's ganseys, the knitted pullovers that were once the icon of the coastal fishing industry, so the day ties directly into its collection. Demonstrations and drop-in workshops run from 10.30am to 2pm, with talks and displays taking over from 3pm onward. It's included within normal museum admission with no booking required, though space for the talks and workshops is first come first served. Refreshments are available on the day.
