Free graduate photography exhibition at Open Eye Gallery featuring four early-career artists from the MA in Socially Engaged Photography.

Next Up-2026 is the annual graduate exhibition showcasing work from the MA in Socially Engaged Photography, a course Open Eye Gallery runs jointly with the University of Salford. This year it features four early-career photographers: Yaqeen Amir, Ella Horniman, Jack Smith, and Helen Constantinou, the latter shown in partnership with Homotopia. The work spans themes including displacement and identity, class and independent publishing, environmental fly-tipping in the North West, and a piece responding to the history of Section 28 and LGBTQI+ visibility. The exhibition is held in Gallery 3 upstairs at Open Eye Gallery, 19 Mann Island, Liverpool. Entry is free and the gallery is open 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday. It suits anyone with an interest in photography, social issues or contemporary art, and visitors can also read about each artist's background and practice alongside the displayed work.
