Pre-Raphaelites: Art and Poetry

Over 100 Pre-Raphaelite paintings, drawings and objects exploring the link between art and poetry at the Laing.

This exhibition brings together more than 100 works by Pre-Raphaelite artists including Hunt, Millais, Rossetti and Burne-Jones, looking at how their paintings and drawings were shaped by poetry. It's a chance to see well-known and lesser-known pieces side by side, tracing the connections between the images and the verses that inspired them. It runs at the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle from 17 October 2026 until 13 February 2027. The gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4.30pm, and closed on Sundays and bank holidays. General admission to the Laing is free, but an admission charge applies specifically for this exhibition.
