Climbing & Bouldering Centres in Edinburgh
If your kids are past the toddler stage and after something with a bit more grip and height, Alien Bloc is the one to know about, right in Edinburgh, about a kilometre from the centre. It takes climbers aged 8 and up, with proper bouldering and roped routes rather than a soft play scramble wall, and tickets start from £7.80, cheaper if you can go off-peak. There is a cafe on site and bike parking and parking for the car, so it works whether you turn up under your own steam or need somewhere to sit with a coffee while you watch. It suits older kids and teenagers better than under 8s, given the age limit, and it is worth booking as a group if a few families want to go together, since group bookings and birthday parties are both catered for.
