Cafés, Brunch & Coffee in Derby
Derby's café scene is mostly a walk round the Cathedral Quarter and Derbion. Carnero Lounge on St Peters Street does all-day brunch and a kids corner with menu prices from £6.75, Cosy Club sits in grand old surroundings with baby change and a kids menu, and BEAR Iron Gate is a coffee and brunch stop in a former banking hall (card only, so bring plastic not cash). Up on Level 2 of Derbion, BEAR Derbion has pushchair-friendly tables if you're already there shopping. For high chairs and a proper kids menu alongside grown-up dinner options, Carluccio's at Derbion covers breakfast through to dinner. If you fancy pairing coffee with a day out, Cromford Mills has a free yard and café, and Canalside Heritage Centre in Beeston does lunch in the gardens when it's dry, though that's more picnic bench than indoor booth. A longer trip out to Southwell Minster works too, with a café, dog-friendly grounds and carved stone leaves for children to spot, all free to enter.
