Galleries & Exhibitions in Coventry

If you fancy a free morning out with the kids, Coventry's nearest options are a short drive away rather than in the city itself. Nuneaton Museum & Art Gallery has hands on history sessions and make and take craft activities alongside its art exhibitions, and it's free to get in, with a cafe and accessible toilets on site. For a longer trip out to Leicester, the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery on New Walk is also free, with dinosaurs, Ancient Egypt and Leicester Stories to explore, though some galleries are currently shut for redevelopment. Both are indoor and cost nothing, so the choice really comes down to distance and what your children are into. Nuneaton suits a shorter visit with younger children, thanks to its craft table and hands on sessions. Leicester has more ground to cover and works well if you want to make a full day of it, with lockers and a picnic area if you bring your own lunch. Ring ahead if a particular Leicester gallery is the one you're going for.
