Arcades, VR & Gaming in Sheffield

The National Videogame Museum in the centre of Sheffield is the one to build a visit around, and it's not a look-but-don't-touch sort of place either. Entry starts from £11 and it's open to all ages, with over 100 playable machines lining the halls, plus baby change and party rooms if you're making a day of it. A few minutes out, BattleKart Sheffield has electric karts weaving through projected game worlds on the floor, from £14.90, with just a seatbelt between you and the track, no headset needed. For younger kids, the museum is the gentler start, with step-free access and toilets close at hand. Older children will get more out of BattleKart's racing. If you're peckish afterwards, Nando's at Valley Centertainment does peri-peri chicken with free parking and a tram stop right there, so you can leave the car at home if you'd rather.
