What it’s like
A late-night live music pub with gigs from 7pm, better suited to older teens out with parents than a family day trip.
This is a gig venue, not a soft play or a farm park. Bands are on from 7pm through to midnight, and the whole point of turning up is standing in a room listening to live music, so it only really makes sense for older teenagers who are into that sort of night out rather than younger children.
Tickets are £6 in advance or £7 on the door, and that door price is cash only, which catches people out if you've gone fully card-only in your wallet these days. There's food on site. Parking is on Angers Road and Kingstree Street rather than a dedicated car park, and if you're coming from Totterdown there's a walk down the Thunderbolt Steps and then fifty yards to the door, which is fine in daylight but worth knowing if you're leaving late.
Birthday parties are apparently on offer too, though you'd want to enquire directly about what that actually involves for a gig pub. There's outdoor space and bike parking if that's how your teenager's getting there. Given the hours run to midnight, this is really an evening-out venue rather than an afternoon one, so plan around a lift home or a late one back over those steps.
