What it’s like
A 16+ live music venue with gigs from a fiver, so this one's for the older teens, not the kids.
This is not one for the family day out list. The Louisiana is strictly 16+, and even then anyone under 18 needs a responsible adult with them, so it's really aimed at older teens who are into live music rather than younger children.
Tickets start from £5 and go up to £8 depending on the gig, which is fair enough for a small venue. There's a catch though: they don't sell tickets in-house.
The bar opens at 5:30pm daily, with curfew at 10:30pm most nights and slightly earlier on Sundays at 10:15pm. That's a late one for a 16 or 17 year old on a school night, so worth thinking about if you're the one picking them up.
One genuine downside if access matters to you: the main venue is up on the first floor with no wheelchair access. Parking's a bit of a faff too, mostly on-street and free after 6pm and at weekends, with a compound and bay parking across the road as backup.
