What it’s like

Sit down at the wheel or hand-build a pot, then come back later to glaze it, all in proper three-hour sessions.

This is a proper pottery class, not a quick paint-a-mug session. You get three hours at the wheel or hand-building with coils, shaping your own pot from scratch, then a separate two-hour glazing session once it's ready. That's a decent chunk of a day each time, so it suits someone who wants to actually learn the craft rather than pop in for twenty minutes.

Classes run on Tuesday mornings and evenings, and Thursday mornings or afternoons. If you've never thrown a pot before, the taster or beginner's class is £60 and runs in the evening slot. Regular classes are £42 each, or you can buy a package of four for £142, which works out £26 cheaper than paying one at a time. The package is valid for two months.

Booking is by email or by buying a voucher, there's no online booking link. There's free parking on site, which is one less thing to think about, and a café for afterwards. The studio closes for a couple of weeks at the end of August into September, so that's worth avoiding if you're planning ahead.
