What it’s like

A soft play spot built around under-fives, with a baby corner, toddler bouncers and a role-play village for the toddler years.

This one's aimed squarely at the little end of the soft play world, so don't turn up with a seven-year-old expecting a big drop slide. Alfie's Corner is set aside for pre-crawlers, away from anyone bigger and boisterous, and there's a separate toddler area with bouncers and Jumperoos for the ones just finding their feet. Older toddlers get the Play Village, which has its own soft play frame and slide plus themed role-play areas where they can potter about pretending to shop or cook rather than climb.

Because it's pitched at nought to five, there's none of the usual soft play stress about a toddler getting flattened by an eight-year-old on a sugar rush. The role-play village is the bit that'll probably hold their attention longest, since imaginative play tends to outlast a slide once the novelty wears off.

The cafe does hot and cold food and drinks for adults and kids, including cakes, so you can get a proper lunch in rather than surviving on vending machine crisps. Booking is required, which is a bit of a faff if you like to decide on the day. Parking is in a shared car park, and the site is specific that you need to use the bays marked with a tick, which is an easy thing to miss if you're not looking for it.
