What it’s like

A café with a play area and a lending library for kids, open for hot food, coffee and browsing most of the week.

There's a children's play area to keep hands busy while the grown ups get through a coffee, and a children's library where you can borrow books for a week, which is a nice touch if you fancy a return visit before the due date. It's a proper café rather than a play centre with a café bolted on, so the food side is taken seriously: hot and cold options, ice creams and lollies too.

It's open Thursday to Monday, 9.30 to 4, and closed Tuesday and Wednesday, so it's worth building that into your week if it's becoming a regular haunt. Hot food stops being served at 3.30, so turning up right at closing means you're looking at cold options only.

There's wifi if you need to get anything done while the kids are occupied, and a picnic area too if you'd rather sit outside with your own food. No booking link is given.
