What it’s like

Tech-tracked social darts with pizza and cocktails, family-friendly by day but strictly 18+ by evening and all day Saturday.

You throw darts at an oche, but the games are the real trick here. The tech tracks every throw and turns it into scores you don't have to work out yourself, so someone who's never picked up a dart has as much chance as someone who plays every week. Afterwards they email you a video of your visit, Action Replay style, which is a nice touch if you want proof of that one lucky bullseye.

Family Sessions run Sunday to Friday until 4:30pm in designated areas, and that's your window if you've got children with you. Ages 12 to 17 can play if an adult's with them; under-12s are welcome but have to stay seated at a bar table rather than throwing darts themselves, which is worth knowing before a nine-year-old gets their hopes up. After 4:30pm on weekdays and Sundays, and all day Saturday, it switches to 18+ only, so this is very much a daytime plan if you're bringing the kids.

Food comes to you at the oche, pizza paddles, sharing plates, small plates, built so you can eat and play without stopping. Lunch runs on weekdays until 3pm and food service overall goes from 11:30am until at least 10pm. You can't bring your own food or drink in, and there's no space for pet dogs either, only assistance animals, which is a fair trade-off given the darts.

Booking isn't compulsory but it's strongly recommended, especially at busy times, and walk-ins can't be guaranteed a playing spot even if there's room to eat and drink. Group minimums kick in later in the day, four people from 4pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, six from 4pm Wednesday to Friday and all day Saturday. It's two minutes from Reading Station if you're coming by train, and cancelling needs 48 hours' notice or you'll lose the gaming fee.

Plan your visit

Is this OK for young children?

Under-12s can come along during Family Sessions but have to stay seated at a bar table with an adult rather than play. Ages 12 to 17 can play Social Darts if an adult is with them.

When can families visit?

Family Sessions run Sunday to Friday until 4:30pm in designated areas. After that, and all day Saturday, it's over-18s only.

How much does it cost?

Social Darts is £9 a person. Food and drink are extra, though there are packages you can pre-order for groups of two or more.

Do we need to book?

Booking's recommended, especially at peak times, since walk-ins aren't guaranteed a spot to play even if the venue looks quiet. You can walk in for food and drinks without a booking.

Is there a minimum group size?

Not earlier in the day, but from 4pm Monday and Tuesday you need at least four people, and from 4pm Wednesday to Saturday you need at least six.

What's on the food menu?

Pizza paddles, sharing plates and small plates designed to eat while you play, plus cocktails and vegan or gluten-free options. Food runs from 11:30am until at least 10pm daily, with a lunch offer on weekdays until 3pm.

Can we bring our own food?

No, outside food and drink isn't allowed on site.

Can we do a birthday here?

Mention it when you book and they'll sort a treat for the birthday guest. Balloons are fine away from the dartboard, but banners can't go on the walls.

Is it wheelchair accessible?

There's a powered stair climber, but it's not suitable for anyone who can't stand unaided, so access is limited for some wheelchair users.
