What it’s like
A small independent cinema with regular baby, toddler and kids' film screenings plus relaxed showings for those who need a calmer visit.
This is a proper old-school cinema rather than a multiplex, and it's built its programme around exactly that. There's a Watch With Baby slot for the ones still in a sling, a Toddler Time for the wobblers, and a Kids' Club for the ones old enough to sit still (mostly). If you've got a child who finds the usual cinema trip a lot, the relaxed screenings turn the lights down low, drop the volume, skip the trailers and let people move about or step out without any fuss.
The kiosk does popcorn, hot and cold drinks and a few treats, opening 20 minutes before the first film, so you've got time to sort snacks before you find your seats. Assistance dogs are welcome, and staff will arrange an aisle seat or even mind the dog for you during the film if you let them know in advance.
Access is the bit to plan around. Screen 1 has a ramp and one wheelchair space, but Screen 2 is 32 steps and no lift. There's no accessible toilet on site either, with the nearest ones over at Seven Dials or The Grapes pub, which is a genuine faff if you need one mid-film. Blue badge parking is close by on St Michael's Place, but it's capped at three hours with a clock displayed, so keep an eye on it if the film overruns.
Carers get in free if you're bringing someone who needs support, and they'll sort a CEA card booking or a free ticket over the phone or at the Box Office if you don't have one yet.
