What it’s like
A small, proper theatre in Larkhall doing family shows, with step-free access to the front row and a strict no outside food rule.
This is a proper theatre rather than a big commercial venue, tucked into Larkhall, and it does family and pantomime shows alongside its usual programme. Tickets sit around £12 to £14 depending on whether you count as a concession, and there's a £1.50 restoration levy added per ticket, which stings a bit when you're buying for the whole crew.
Doors open half an hour before curtain up, not before, so there's no point turning up early hoping to sit in the warm. Latecomers may not get in at all, which is a proper faff if you've got a toddler who's decided that shoes are the enemy right as you're leaving the house. The front row is flat, useful if a buggy or wheelchair needs to be close, but every row behind it has a shallow step, and the staircase at the back for leaving mid-show is steep.
Food-wise, they keep it simple: the bar does drinks and snacks, and you're not allowed to bring your own in except water, so grab a sandwich in Larkhall beforehand rather than smuggling crisps in your coat. It's card only, no cash, which catches people out. Parking is the other catch: there's no car park on site, on-street spaces are free after 7pm but tight before that, and the nearest pay option is a ten minute walk at Morrisons.
Book online or by phone, or in person once the box office opens half an hour before the show. If you need a wheelchair space, book that ahead too, seats A9 to A11 come with a free companion seat.
