What it’s like
Four themed rooms to crack in an hour, from a creepy doll's house to an Egyptian tomb, with a real 60-minute clock running.
You get 60 minutes locked into a room with your team, hunting for codes and hidden mechanisms before the clock runs out. There are four themes to pick from: rescue the Golden Ticket from the Ringmaster in Carnival Chaos, finish Howard Carter's work in Trials of Osiris, poke round an abandoned chapel, or track down a missing doll in a genuinely unsettling collector's house. Carnival Chaos and Trials of Osiris actually lock the door with a magnet (there's always an emergency button), while the other two rooms leave you free to walk out if it all gets too much, which is worth knowing if anyone in your group doesn't love small enclosed spaces.
This is one for kids who can actually reason through a puzzle rather than just enjoy being in a room, so it suits eights and up, with under-16s needing a paying adult in the team. Teams run from two up to six or seven depending on the room, and staff keep an eye on things throughout with hints on offer if you get stuck, so nobody's abandoned to fail in silence.
Budget around 75 minutes all in: a short briefing, the 60 minutes of actual puzzling, and a debrief afterwards where they tell you how you did. Booking online is the sensible move, since walk-ups depend on what's free and staff would rather you called ahead. Turn up on time too, because arriving late on a busy day means they'll dock your room time rather than push the whole schedule back, which feels harsh but makes sense once you think about the next group waiting.
There are only two toilets on site for however many groups happen to arrive at once. Parking is metered on Silver Street right outside, or there's a multi-storey nearby with decent weekend rates if you'd rather not feed a meter mid-puzzle.

Plan your visit
What age is this suitable for?
Eights and up, with anyone under 16 needing a paying adult in their team. The puzzles do not have age-sensitive content, but younger kids will need to genuinely engage to keep up.
Do we need to book?
Booking online ahead is recommended, and you can also phone. Walk-ups are possible if a slot is free but staff would rather you got in touch first.
How long does it take?
About 75 minutes in total: a 15-minute briefing, 60 minutes in the room, then a bit of post-escape chat about how you did.
How many people can play?
Teams of two to six for most rooms, or up to seven for Trials of Osiris. Maximum sizes are fixed when you book.
Is there parking nearby?
Metered parking on Silver Street right outside, or the King William House multi-storey close by, which has cheap all-day weekend rates.
What if we get stuck or arrive late?
Staff monitor every game and offer hints rather than answers if you are struggling. If you arrive too late on a busy day though, they will deduct time from your session rather than delay the next group.
