What it’s like
Ballet, tap, street dance and cheer classes for kids from 18 months up, plus adult dance classes too.
Ballet and acrobatics take children from 18 months, which is earlier than most studios bother with. There's a proper toddler route in first: Little Sparkles is the pre-school programme for ages 1.5 to 3, with parents joining in on the floor rather than watching from a chair, so it's as much about getting a toddler used to following instructions in a group as it is about the moves.
From age 3 the list opens right out. Tap and street dance start then, alongside cheer dance that mixes in tumbling and stunts, so if your child has watched too many cheerleading videos this is where that goes. Jazz, contemporary-jazz, contemporary-lyrical and musical theatre all kick in from age 5, once kids can follow longer routines and take a bit more direction.
It's not just a kids' operation. There are adult dance classes running too, so if you fancy something for yourself while your child is in their own session, that's on offer rather than an afterthought.
Because the age range starts so young, it suits a household with more than one child fairly well, dropping a toddler into Little Sparkles while an older one does street dance or cheer in another room.
