What it’s like
Tenpin lanes, pool tables and a free darts room under one roof, with a diner and bar to fall back on between frames.
Bowling is the main event here, 24 lanes of it, all wheelchair accessible, so a wobbly first frame with a six-year-old doesn't mean squeezing past anyone. Between games there's pool, arcade machines and a free darts room with 11 boards, which is the bit that tends to swallow the extra half hour you didn't plan for.
Pricing is straightforward if you catch it right: £7 for one game or £10 for two, Monday to Friday before 6pm. If you've got a bigger group and want to stop counting frames, an hour of unlimited bowling for up to six people is £35 on weekdays and £40 at weekends, or £75 for two hours on a Friday to Sunday peak slot. The Kids Eat, Drink & Bowl bundle at £10.95 is a decent shout for a weekday after-school trip, though it's off the table during school holidays and public holidays, which feels like exactly when you'd want it.
Food runs to an American-style diner, burgers, hot dogs, nachos and a children's menu, with a fully licensed bar if the adults fancy a pint while the kids finish their game. Parking is free with 70 spaces on site, and you don't have to book, though reserving a lane in advance saves you standing about if you turn up on a Saturday night hoping for one.
Birthday parties get their own themed area, with packages from £12.50 a head covering a game, a party bag and the room, or £15 for the Strike package which throws in bingo and a Minion toy, and the birthday child goes free if you've got ten guests or more. It opens til midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, so it's not purely a daytime kids' spot either.
