What it’s like
A soft play barn with slides, tunnels and ball pits, plus an outdoor area and a fenced tots corner.
The main indoor frame is where the action is: slides, tunnels, swings and ball pits for kids happy to launch themselves at things. There's an outdoor play area too if anyone needs a change of scene, plus arts and crafts and interactive games for a slower half hour. Little ones get their own designated tots area, away from the bigger kids barrelling round.
It's £6 for general admission, though if you can get there on a weekday between 9 and 3 in term time, the Tots Club rate drops to £4.50, which is worth building a morning around if your week allows it. There's a height limit of 4ft 9in on the play equipment, so a tall eight-year-old might not clear it, and socks are compulsory before anyone gets on the frame. No outside food or drink is allowed, so whatever you fancy eating needs to come from their café rather than your bag.
Parking's free on site, which helps, and the place is wheelchair accessible. Opening is 9am to 7pm on weekdays and 11am to 7pm at weekends, with last admissions an hour before closing, so don't turn up at ten to seven expecting a full session. You can walk in without booking, though they do advise booking ahead if you want to guarantee a spot on a busy day.
Birthday parties are £12 a child, covering an hour of soft play, half an hour for food and presents, a dedicated host and party bags with a free play voucher tucked inside. You need at least 8 children to book a party, and that minimum charge applies even if fewer turn up on the day. Under-threes are catered for too, with the host tailoring things down for the younger guests.
