What it’s like

A board game café with over 350 games to pick from, plus cocktails and coffee for the grown-ups at the table.

You pay a table fee and settle in for however long your slot lasts, picking through more than 350 board games while someone brings over nachos or a milkshake. It works for a rainy Saturday with a seven-year-old who wants to learn a new game, and it works just as well as a grown-up night out with cocktails on the table instead of squash.

Sessions run 1.5 or 3 hours, and the games library is genuinely the point here, not a side feature while you wait for food. There's a Pokémon Club and a Lorcana Club if your kids collect either, crafting sessions, and a Book Club for the reading-obsessed. Older kids and teens who fancy something with more story to it can get into the fortnightly Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, which take beginners as well as people who already know their dice.

One thing to know before you go: no outside food or drink is allowed in, so that packet of crisps in the buggy stays in the buggy. And the three-hour session is the maximum, with extra time only if there's a free table, so don't plan on making a whole afternoon of it without checking first. Under-14s need an adult with them, and teenagers aged 14 to 18 can only stay until 9pm, so an evening booking with older kids has a natural cut-off.

There's no car park attached, but West Street Car Park is just behind the building and there's a Sainsbury's car park a short walk off Saint-Cloud Way. Inside it's step-free with an accessible bathroom, and dogs are welcome too if that's part of your day out.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

It's £4.50 per person for a 1.5 hour session, or £9 for 3 hours. That's the table fee for unlimited access to the games library, food and drink are extra.

Do we need to book?

Booking's recommended for busy evenings and weekends. At quieter times you can just walk in.

Is it OK for toddlers and babies?

They say it works for all ages, babies and toddlers included, though under-14s need to stay with an adult.

Can teenagers come without a parent?

14 to 18 year olds can be in the venue on their own, but only until 9pm. No under-18s after that.

Can we bring our own snacks?

No, outside food and drink isn't allowed. Everything eaten has to be bought there, including the sandwiches, hot snacks and milkshakes.

Is there parking?

Not on-site, but West Street Car Park is right behind the café and there's another one at Sainsbury's off Saint-Cloud Way.

How long can we stay?

Sessions are 1.5 or 3 hours. Three hours is the maximum for a gaming visit, and extra time depends on whether a table's free.

There's a Pokémon Club, a Lorcana Club, crafting sessions and a Book Club alongside the fortnightly D&D campaigns.

Is it accessible with a wheelchair or buggy?
