What it’s like
An 18+ arcade with reel and touchscreen gaming machines, free tea and biscuits, and a coloured wheel that pays out credit every half hour.
This is an adults-only arcade, over 18s only, and anyone who looks under 25 gets asked for photo ID at the door. So leave the kids out of this one entirely.
Once you're in, it's gaming machines: reel cabinets alongside newer touchscreens. The gimmick that'll probably decide how long you stay is the Rainbow Wheel, which spins every half hour. Land on your colour while you're on that machine and you're up £10 in credit, or £20 if it's a Friday or Saturday night between 9pm and 2am. Miss it and everyone playing still gets £5 (£10 on those late weekend sessions), so there's always something ticking over even on a quiet spin.
There's also a daily cash match: stake £10 and they'll match it with another £10 in credit, giving you £20 to play with. You only get the one match per session, and it runs across the day and again through the Friday and Saturday night slot. It's cash only, so don't turn up expecting to tap a card and top up.
Tea, coffee, crisps and biscuits are free all day, and through the night on Fridays and Saturdays too, which takes the edge off a long session. Someone's on duty from open to close every day, with CCTV throughout. Opening hours are generous on weekends, 9am right up to 2am Friday and Saturday, though it's shut all day Sunday and closes at 9pm the rest of the week.
