What it’s like

Weekly music classes for babies and toddlers, with live singing, real instruments and a taster before you commit to a term.

Sessions are built around live singing and real instruments rather than a backing track, so you get action songs, sensory play and bits of movement with props thrown in. It's split by age and stage, starting with Young Babies from birth, then Babies from around 6 months, Toddlers from 13 months and a Pre-School group from about 2.5 years, so the songs and pace actually match what your child can do rather than lumping a newborn in with a running two-year-old.

You don't have to commit blind. Most classes offer a taster session first, which is the sensible way in if you're not sure your six-month-old is going to sit still for singing, let alone enjoy it. If it goes down well, you move on to a full term.

Classes run across a few venues, including Blaby Baptist Church, Blaby Social Centre, Enderby Social Club and Mountsorrel Memorial Centre. They also do birthday parties led by musical professionals, singing and dancing included, if you fancy handing over the entertainment for an hour rather than running it yourself.
