What it’s like
A live music venue in Nottingham with gigs most nights, doors from 5pm and step-free access throughout.
This is a gig venue, not a family attraction, and it runs on that basis: doors open at 5pm Monday to Saturday, with Sundays only when there's an event on. Shows themselves tend to start between 6pm and 7.30pm, with a curfew somewhere between 10pm and 11pm, so it's a proper evening out rather than an early one.
Access has clearly been thought about. There's level access on the ground floor, an accessible toilet with a Radar key, a hearing loop, and seating available if you need it. If you use a wheelchair you can watch from the front of the room or the pit barrier side, and staff will help sort out viewing spots. Assistance dogs are welcome if you book them in ahead, and personal assistant tickets are free, which is the kind of detail that tells you they've dealt with this properly rather than as an afterthought.
Getting there without a car is easy enough. It's a 15 to 20 minute walk from Nottingham train station through the Broadmarsh Centre and across Old Market Square, or the Royal Centre tram stop is about three minutes from the door. If you are driving, Q-Park Talbot Street is the nearest option, with accessible bays and a blue badge drop-off point close by at Stanley Place.
Early access of 10 to 15 minutes before doors is available for anyone who needs it, which is worth arranging in advance rather than hoping to sort on the night.
