What it’s like

A Grade II listed Tudor building in Sheffield with a courtyard to explore and pub food to fill you up after.

This one's less about a set attraction and more about the building itself. It's a genuine Tudor structure, Grade II listed, and wandering round it with kids who like old things (or just like poking about somewhere different from the usual high street pub) is the actual draw here. There's a courtyard too, which the site calls charming, and it's the sort of spot to let the kids have a nose around while you get your bearings.

Food-wise it's proper pub fare. Roast dinners come in at £7.99 to £9.95, and there are burgers and jacket potatoes if your kids are fussier eaters. Nobody's going to complain about the prices on that.

It sits right by the train and bus stations, so if you're coming into Sheffield without a car this is about as easy as it gets. No need to work out where to park, just walk from the platform.

Worth knowing this is filed under caves, mines and underground attractions locally, though what's actually documented here is the historic building and courtyard rather than anything below ground. Go in expecting a good old building and a decent roast rather than a full-blown underground adventure.

  • The building itself, a Grade II listed Tudor structure, is the main thing to see here rather than any rides or activities.
  • The courtyard is worth a wander if the kids need a breather from the pub interior.
  • Being right by the train and bus stations makes it an easy add-on if you're already in town for the day.

Nothing on parking that we can confirm, but given how close it is to the train and bus stations you probably will not need a car anyway.
