What it’s like
Eighteen holes of pirate-themed crazy golf round a ship, waterfalls and a resident crocodile.
This one's a proper 18-hole course built round a pirate ship, with lakes, waterfalls, rafts and cannons to putt past. There's a crocodile lurking somewhere on the course too, which is the sort of detail that'll get mentioned at teatime whether you want it to or not.
It suits a fairly wide range of ages since the holes are outdoors and there's room to let a three-year-old take twelve goes at a putt without holding anyone up. Under-3s play free, under-12s are £6, and over-12s are £9.50, or you can do a family group of four (max two adults) for £26, which works out cheaper than paying separately if you've got two kids in tow.
It's open 9:30am to 8pm, with last tee-off at 6:15pm, so an evening game after work or school is doable without rushing. There's a café, bar and grill on site doing bacon cobs and a proper menu with specials, so you can turn 18 holes into lunch or a pint while the kids finish their scorecards.
If it's a birthday do you're after, there are party packages for age 4 and up that include invitations, the 18 holes, certificates and boxed party food, which takes most of the planning off your hands.
