What it’s like
Petting barn animals, a soft play barn with slides and a zip line, plus a scan-and-solve trail round the outdoor park.
The Stockyard is where the day starts for most families: donkeys, pigs, alpacas, ponies, goats and rabbits all in one petting barn, so a one-year-old can get a fuss in without much walking. Once they're steadier on their feet there's the Beetag Adventure Trail outdoors, a scanning quest with animal stories attached, which is a decent way to get a six or seven-year-old covering ground without it feeling like a route march.
The Play Barn is the other half of the day, and it's built for the 1 to 12 crowd, with slides, tunnels, climbing frames, a bouncing pillow and a zip line outside. Sessions run three hours, which is generous for soft play and about right if you're combining it with the animals too. Socks are mandatory in there, and an adult has to stay with the kids the whole time in both the Play Barn and the Country Park, so this isn't a drop-and-wander sort of visit.
On price, a Play Barn and Country Park combo ticket runs £15.67 for a child aged 5 to 12 and £6.81 for an adult, or there's a family ticket at £36.68 for two adults and two children which works out cheaper if there's four of you going. Under 1s go free on most standard tickets. Booking online in advance is recommended to guarantee entry, though it's not strictly required, so if you're winging it on a whim there's a bit of a gamble on whether you'll get in.
Food-wise there's an American-style diner doing full breakfasts, burgers and steak and chips, an ice cream parlour, and a Play Barn café for coffee and kids' meals. The diner and ice cream parlour are open to the public without needing ranch admission, handy if you just fancy a burger and to skip the animals altogether. Opening hours can shift in school holidays and around special events, and at Christmas there are reindeer visiting, which is a nice excuse to go back.

A Play Barn and Country Park combo is £15.67 for a child aged 5 to 12 and £6.81 for an adult. There's a family ticket for two adults and two children at £36.68, which is the better deal if you're a four.
Do we need to book?
Not strictly, but they recommend booking online in advance to guarantee entry.
What ages is it good for?
The Play Barn covers 1 to 12 and the wider ranch is listed for 1 to 16, so it stretches from toddlers to older kids who want the outdoor trail and zip line.
How long do people stay?
Play Barn sessions run 3 hours, and with the petting barn and trail added on you could easily fill most of the day.
What's there to eat?
An American-style diner with full breakfasts and burgers, an ice cream parlour, and a Play Barn café for coffee and lighter bites. The diner and ice cream parlour don't need ranch admission to visit.
Is it OK for a toddler?
Yes, under 1s go free on most standard tickets and there's a Parent & Toddler Morning with a cheaper child ticket at £3.67.
Do we need socks for the Play Barn?
Socks are mandatory in there, so pack a pair or two.
Do parents have to stay with the kids?
An adult must supervise children in both the Play Barn and the Country Park, so it's not a place to sit back with a coffee while they play unattended.
Can we do birthday parties there?
Play Barn parties are 90 minutes of soft play with a hot or cold buffet, unlimited squash and a party host, from £14.95 per child with the birthday child free.
What are the opening hours?
