What it’s like
A late-opening bar and events space with music nights, comedy, art events and yoga, not a soft play or kids' venue in the usual sense.
This isn't a place with a ball pit or a play frame. It's a bar and events venue that puts on music, comedy, art and literary nights, and yoga classes, so what you get on any given evening depends entirely on what's booked in. That makes it a better fit for older kids and teenagers who'd sit through a gig or a comedy set than for anyone under school age looking to charge about.
There's a café and restaurant on site, though there's nothing here on what's actually on the menu, so if food matters to your evening it's worth having a backup plan rather than assuming there'll be something your kids will eat. Opening hours are long, 9am to midnight Sunday to Thursday and 9am to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, which suits a late comedy show but also means daytime visits are possible if that's what's programmed.
Access is genuinely well thought through. There's step-free access to the main bar and café and to the Snug via a ramp, an accessible toilet on the ground floor, and seating can be reserved in advance for anyone with access needs. The basement is trickier, around 18 steps, though it's reachable step-free via the rear entrance on Victoria Road with staff help.
Because the programme changes, this is one where you really do need to look at what's on before you book an evening around it. A yoga class and a late comedy gig are very different nights out with kids in tow, and the venue doesn't read as somewhere you'd just turn up to with a pram and see what happens.

Plan your visit
Is this suitable for young children?
Not really. The events on offer, music nights, comedy, art talks and yoga, suit older kids and teenagers far more than toddlers or young children.
What are the opening hours?
9am to midnight Sunday to Thursday, and 9am to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Is there food on site?
There's a café and restaurant, but no menu details to go on, so it's worth having a plan B if your kids are fussy eaters.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
The main bar, café and Snug are step-free via a ramp, with an accessible toilet on the ground floor. The basement has around 18 steps but can be reached step-free through the rear entrance with staff help.
How do I book access support?
Email contact@hydeparkbookclub.co.uk at least five working days before the event, with proof of eligibility if you're requesting PA tickets or reserved seating.
