What it’s like

An 18-hole adventure golf course in Highfields Park with hazards and slopes to putt round, for £6.50 a child.

Eighteen holes of adventure golf, with hazards and undulations built into the course rather than a flat carpet job. It suits anyone from about three upwards, though the trickier bends will probably need a grown up's help for the younger ones. You putt with what they give you, not your own kit from home, so don't bother bringing a favourite putter from the garage.

It's £6.50 for a child and £9.50 for an adult, which for eighteen holes outdoors feels fair enough. Parking's free, which helps, but they're upfront that the car park fills quickly, so don't leave it too late on a nice day. There's a café in the Arts Centre nearby for coffee and food after, plus snacks and drinks sold on site if you just need something quick.

Toilets are mostly inside the Arts Centre. Some of the outside ones are currently out of use, so factor that in if you've got a small one who needs the loo mid-round rather than at the end.

Hours shift with the season and the light, and they post changes on Facebook rather than fixing them year round, so an evening game in December looks very different to one in July.
