What it’s like

Oliver! at full West End length, with a proper interval, for kids old enough to sit through nearly three hours of it.

This is Oliver! and it runs long: two hours forty with a twenty minute interval, so you're looking at a proper evening out rather than a quick after-school treat. That's fine for a nine or ten-year-old who's seen a show before, tougher for a fidgety seven-year-old on a school night. The age guide here is 7+ and they mean it, under-3s aren't let in at all, which rules out bringing a younger sibling along "just to see."

Money is the bit that'll make you wince. A Grand Circle family ticket for four is £125, but if you want Stalls or Dress Circle for the same four seats it jumps to £200. Adult seats in Stalls or Dress Circle run £50 on their own most nights. Book direct and there's no booking fee, and you can exchange tickets up to 48 hours before curtain if plans change, which is handy if you're not sure a Tuesday matinee will actually happen with school the next day.

One rule that trips people up: any under-16 has to sit next to an accompanying adult. No outside food or drink either, so factor that into the evening if you were planning to grab something quick beforehand and eat it in your seat.

If you're going as a school or club, there's a group rate for 10 or more, and an Accelerator Schools Rate with a free teacher place per ten students, but that deal has a booking deadline of 27th November 2026 for shows running into March 2027.

Plan your visit

How old does my child need to be?

They recommend 7 and up, and under-3s aren't admitted at all. Worth thinking about whether your seven-year-old can actually sit still for nearly three hours.

How long is the show?

Around two hours forty, including a twenty minute interval. It's a full-length musical, not a shortened kids' version.

How much are family tickets?

£125 for four in the Grand Circle, or £200 for four in Stalls or Dress Circle. The view from Stalls costs you an extra £75 as a family.

Can we bring our own snacks?

No outside food or drink is allowed, so plan on eating beforehand or buying whatever's sold inside.

Do we need to book ahead?

Book online direct to skip booking fees, and you can exchange tickets up to 48 hours before the performance if your plans shift.

Is there a discount for school groups?

Groups of 10 or more get a discount, and schools get an Accelerator Rate with one free teacher place per ten students, but you need to book by 27th November 2026 for that one.
