Exchange

WHERE

What it’s like
A gig venue for teens and up, not a kids' venue, with strict age rules on the door.
This isn't a family day out spot. Exchange puts on gigs and club nights, and the age line is firm: 14+ for gigs unless they say otherwise, and under 18s need an adult with them. Club nights are strictly 18+, so if you're picturing a teenager heading off with mates for a late one, that's not happening here without you.
If you've got a teenager who's into music and wants to go to a proper gig, this is the sort of place that'll do it. Just don't expect a soft play corner or a family ticket. It's built for gig-goers, not for entertaining a six-year-old on a rainy Tuesday.
Getting in is straightforward enough physically: there's a small ramp at the entrance, an accessible toilet on the ground floor, and an accessible viewing area if that matters for anyone in your group. Parking isn't right outside, mind, it's in bays across the road or behind the venue, about 250 metres off, so factor in a short walk.
Assistance dogs are welcome and they'll even sort a water bowl, though not into the indoor bits when live music's on. If anyone needs medicine or kit for a medical condition, they're fine to bring it in, and if you need a personal assistant ticket, you just email ahead and they'll sort a complimentary one.
