What it’s like
A proper old Bristol music venue with flagstone floors, where under 16s can go to gigs if an adult comes too.
This isn't a soft play or a farm park, it's a live music venue, and that changes what a visit looks like. Under 16s need an adult with them, and different shows carry different age restrictions, so what's on the night decides whether it's a family outing or not. Club nights are strictly over 18s, so check what you're actually booking before you get excited about a night out with a teenager.
The building itself has history, and that means a flagstone floor that's uneven in places, worth knowing if you've got a pushchair or anyone unsteady on their feet. Doors tend to open around 7 to 7:30pm with the headline act on between 8 and 9pm, and shows on a Sunday or midweek usually wrap by 11pm, while Friday and Saturday finish earlier at 10:30pm to clear the way for the club night after. That's a late one for younger kids, so it suits older teenagers more than little ones.
Getting in is straightforward if you've booked. Tickets come through the website or the promoter, never over the phone, and if a show says sold out it means sold out, nobody's holding tickets back on the door. There's a cloakroom for £2 an item if you don't fancy carrying coats all night.
Access has been thought about, with an accessible toilet at the bar and reserved seating at the front right of the stage, though wheelchair space is limited per show and needs arranging in advance. Carer tickets are free but also limited, so that's another one to sort ahead of the night rather than hope for on arrival. Parking on the street is pricey in the day at £6 for two hours, cheaper after 6pm, or there's a multi-storey a short walk off if you'd rather not risk a ticket.

Plan your visit
Is it suitable for kids?
Depends on the show. Under 16s must be with an adult, and club nights are over 18s only, so it's worth knowing what's actually on before you book.
What time do shows finish?
Sunday and midweek gigs generally wrap by 11pm. Friday and Saturday finish a bit earlier, around 10:30pm, to make way for the club night.
Is the venue accessible?
There's an accessible toilet with a radar key at the bar and reserved seating near the stage. Wheelchair space is limited per show though, so arrange it in advance rather than turning up and hoping.
Where do we park?
On-street parking outside is £6 for two hours during the day, dropping to £4 or £5 in the evening. There's a multi-storey 0.4 miles away if the street spaces are full.
How do we get tickets?
Through the website or the promoter advertising the show, never over the phone from the venue itself. If it says sold out, it's sold out, they don't keep any back for the door.
