Darwin Wellness is a membership club rather than a drop-in session, and everything runs off the monthly plans: £99 a month for full membership, £95 each for a couple, £85 for gym and swim, and £110 for pay as you go with no contract. Every monthly contract carries a £30 joining fee on top, which stings a bit given it's a one-off admin charge.
The perk they push is that one membership covers the gym, the functional zone and the pool with steam and sauna. The pool isn't a turn-up-and-swim affair: slots are timed and have to be booked through the booking system, so you'll want to sort that before you set off. Two things catch people out on timing. The pool closes an hour before the club does, and the changing rooms and showers shut half an hour before closing. Last admission is an hour before the end too, so a late-evening swim isn't really on.
Opening hours are generous if you're an early riser: 6am to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 6am to 8pm Friday, and 8am to 7pm at weekends. Public and bank holidays it's 10am to 4pm, a shorter day than you might assume.
The gym and swim membership at £85 is the cheapest way in if you don't need the full run of the place, and pay as you go at £110 is the one to pick if you'd rather not tie yourself to twelve months. Either way, the joining fee only applies to the monthly contracts.
