What it’s like

A garden centre day out with a café, farm shop and dog-friendly wandering rather than a fenced-off kids' zone.

This is one for a slower kind of visit. There's no soft play or splash pad here, just a big garden centre with a café and a farm shop attached, so it suits families who want a wander, a browse and a decent lunch rather than a full-on activity list. Kids who like looking at plants, fish tanks and garden bits will get more out of it than ones after climbing frames.

The café does breakfasts, main courses and afternoon tea, which makes it easy to turn a quick pop-in into a proper sit-down meal if the weather's grim outside. Next door, the farm shop has a butchers, bakery and deli counter.

Dogs are welcome, and there's even dog food and accessories on sale. The site is wheelchair accessible too, which helps if you've got a buggy in tow.

Opening hours are generous through the week, 9:30am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, but Sunday doesn't start until 1pm, so a Sunday morning trip is off the table.
