Clevedon Craft Centre
WHERE
Clevedon
What it’s like
A cluster of craft studios in Clevedon where kids can paint pottery and you can browse artist work in between.
This isn't one big attraction, it's a scatter of small studios tucked together, most open Wednesday to Sunday, with pottery painting the obvious thing to do with kids. You pick a piece, sit down and get on with it, no rush from what they list, and it suits a quiet couple of hours rather than a full day out.
Studio 3 Gallery is open all seven days if the studios themselves are shut, so there's still something to look at even outside the main hours. It's more browsing than doing for younger kids in that bit, ceramics and paintings rather than anything hands-on, but it fills the gap either side of a painting session nicely.
The Little Leaf & Bean Coffee Shop does drinks, cakes and sandwiches, open Thursday to Sunday with slightly shorter hours on a Sunday. It's a sit down and refuel spot rather than a proper lunch stop, so if you're planning to make a day of it you might want to eat before or after.
Parking's free and the site's wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet, which makes it an easy one for buggies too. There's no booking system listed.
