What it’s like
Flumes, a spacebowl and a lazy river in an hour-long session, with a mini slide for the smaller ones too.
The big draw here is the water, not the badges on the wall. Three flumes and the spacebowl rides are what the older kids will be angling for, while the interactive play area with its own mini slide gives younger ones somewhere to paddle about without getting mown down. There's a lazy river too, which is the bit that actually gets everyone to slow down for five minutes.
Sessions run for an hour, with extra time either side to get changed, so don't plan a full afternoon around it. During Welsh term-time the water features (the flumes and spacebowl) only run Wednesday and Friday evenings, plus weekends and bank holidays, so a random Tuesday after school won't get you the full features, just general swimming. Junior tickets for the Full Features Session are £7.35, adults £9.35, and it's worth knowing that leisure pool bookings are non-refundable if plans change.
Supervision rules are strict and sensible: under-8s need an adult in the water with them, one adult per child for under-4s, one adult can cover two kids aged 4 to 7. Lockers need a £1 coin or a trolley token, so have one on you or you'll be hunting for change with a toddler in tow.
Parking's free in the car park across the street, with accessible and parent-and-child bays, and the whole building is wheelchair accessible with pool hoists and accessible changing. There's a bus stop right by the sports village too if you're leaving the car at home.
