What it’s like
A volunteer-run playhouse in a Bromley back lane: full-length plays monthly, bar shows, and £17 tickets for guests.
This is a proper little repertory theatre tucked down Compass Lane, off North Street, run by volunteers who put on a different full-length play nearly every month. Each one runs eight nights from a Friday, plus a Saturday matinée, so you've usually got a fortnight to catch it. The auditorium is upstairs on the first floor, which means two steps up, and it seats a few dozen rather than a few hundred.
Tickets are £12.50 if you're a member and £17 if you're not. That's a £4.50 gap, and with membership available it's the sort of thing worth doing if you plan on going more than a couple of times a year. Prices are the same across all shows, and they move to those figures from January 2026. Booking is online after a one-off registration, or by phone through their ticketing line, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, which adds £1.75 per booking. If you'd rather not pay that, book on the website.
Alongside the main stage there's the In the Bar setup, 45 seats for smaller shows and music nights, blues and roots gigs mostly. August is the exception: no full-length play, because the BLT Youth Group takes over and performs its own show instead, which is the one to look at if you want to take children. Some productions carry content warnings and won't suit younger viewers. There's also a free Volunteer Information Session with a free drink if you fancy seeing how the place runs.
Food and drink come from the on-site bar and café, with a Dinner and Drinks page on their site if you want to eat around a show. Getting there: no parking at the theatre and none on Compass Lane, so use the street bays nearby or The Hill multi-storey, five minutes away from £1.30. Bromley South is about a 15-minute walk, Bromley North is closer. The building has a ramp, a lift and an accessible toilet, but only one wheelchair space in the auditorium with a companion seat next to it, and that has to be reserved through the box office. Mobility scooters may not fit inside and get left in the courtyard.

Plan your visit
How much are tickets?
£12.50 for members and £17 for guests or non-members, across all shows. Those are the prices from January 2026.
Do we need to book in advance?
You register once online and then book your seats. Phone bookings go through their ticketing line on 0330 010 1761, Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, with a £1.75 surcharge per booking.
Is there parking?
None at the theatre and none on Compass Lane. There are street bays nearby, or The Hill multi-storey about five minutes away, from £1.30.
How do we get there without a car?
Bromley South is roughly a 15-minute walk and Bromley North is nearby. The theatre is in Compass Lane, off North Street.
Is it accessible for wheelchair users?
There's a ramp and a lift, plus an accessible toilet and a hearing loop. The auditorium has one wheelchair space with an adjacent seat for a companion, and you book that through the box office.
Can I book accessible tickets online?
The box office will take it by email or on 020 3189 1690 if their ticketing site doesn't work for you. Worth doing that rather than leaving it to the day.
Can I take the kids?
The Youth Group performs its own show in August, and that's the family-friendly slot. Some main stage productions carry content warnings and aren't suitable for younger viewers, so read the show page first.
How long does a show run for?
Each production plays eight nights from a Friday, plus one Saturday matinée. August works differently, with the Youth Group show instead of a full-length play.
Is there food?
There's a bar and café on site, and they keep a Dinner and Drinks page with the details. Useful if you want to eat before the curtain.
Can I get tickets by phone?
Yes, on 0330 010 1761 between 9am and 5:30pm on weekdays, and it costs £1.75 per booking on top. The theatre is volunteer-run, so if nobody picks up you may need to leave a voicemail.
Do you do group bookings?
Groups can book, and there's a membership scheme if you're planning to come regularly. Membership brings the ticket price down to £12.50.
