What it’s like

A Pay What You Feel Family Film Club from £2, plus low-light Parent & Baby and Relaxed screenings for those who need them.

This isn't a cartoon-on-tap multiplex, it's Nottingham's indie cinema, and the family side of it is built around a few specific screenings rather than a constant kids' schedule. Family Film Club is Pay What You Feel from £2, which is about as low-stakes as a trip to the pictures gets. There's also a monthly Parent & Baby screening for babies up to one year, with the lights kept low, the volume turned down, and capacity capped so buggies and feeding don't turn into an obstacle course.

Relaxed Screenings run with adjusted lighting and sound for autistic and other neurodivergent kids (and adults), and they're open to anyone who'd rather skip the usual cinema jump-scares of sudden dark and loud trailers. Captioned screenings turn up in the mix too, over 700 a year according to the site, with subtitles that cover sound effects and lyrics as well as dialogue.

On price, a full ticket is £12 and under-18s are £7, with cheaper rates for members, students and a few other groups. There's a café bar on site for the inevitable snack stop, and well-behaved dogs are allowed there and out on the terrace, assistance dogs throughout the building. Every screen is wheelchair accessible, though they ask you to book ahead for accessible seating, and there are accessible toilets on three floors if you're navigating a building with more than one level to think about.
