What it’s like
One-to-one knitting or crochet classes for ages 10 and up, taught at a home craft studio near Longwell Green.
This is one-to-one teaching, not a group class, so a ten-year-old who's never picked up a hook gets the same attention as an adult wanting a refresher. You pick the day and time that suits you, and the session is built around what you actually want: help finishing a project, a new technique, or starting from nothing. Becky's been teaching kids to knit and crochet since 2022 and keeps it game-like rather than a sit-still lesson, which matters if your ten-year-old's attention span is still a work in progress.
Sessions are booked in hourly blocks up to three hours, at £25 a head per hour. There's no obligation to sign up for a set number of sessions, so you can try one and see how it goes before committing to a course. Total beginners are steered towards a two-hour first session, which sounds like a lot until you realise there's no pressure to finish anything in that time, and the plan is often to carry a pattern home and pick it back up later. A beginner pack with yarn, hook and stitch markers is sold if you don't want to source your own materials first.
You can stay in the room with your child for free, or watch through the window if you'd rather leave them to it. The studio's in Longwell Green, easy enough from Bristol, Bath or Keynsham, with free parking on the driveway or street. Worth knowing before you book: there are three steps down and two steps up into the building.
The cancellation policy is the one thing to build into your diary. Cancel more than 48 hours out and you get a refund or a reschedule; leave it later than that and you can only reschedule, not get your money back.
