What it’s like
Free entry to feed goats and chickens, wander the woodland trails, and let the kids loose on a wood-and-tyre playground.
Getting in costs nothing, but bring a pound coin or two because that's what unlocks the actual fun: a bag of feed for the goats, chickens or ducks. There's a nature hunt and trail guide for another £1 if you want to send them off round the woodland with a bit of purpose rather than just wandering. The playground's built from wood and tyres rather than plastic, which fits the whole place, and there are proper animal tours where you'll meet pigs, alpacas and the rest of the crew.
It's a working farm on a slope, so the path in is on foot only and the site itself flags it as steep, uneven and can get slippery. Worth knowing if you've got a buggy or anyone less steady on their feet. Hand washing after the animals is advised too, sensible enough given what a farm actually is.
The café doesn't take bookings, it's first come first served, so if you roll up at a busy weekend lunchtime you might be queuing. A Farmer's Breakfast is £12, the Big one £17, which isn't farm-shop pocket change but it's a proper cooked meal rather than a snack bar. Picnics are allowed too, with a shelter outside if you'd rather bring your own and skip the queue altogether.
Dogs on a lead are welcome round the site and on the café terraces, just not inside the café itself. Birthday parties run Saturdays and Sundays, two hours for £155 including an animal tour, and if you fancy adding pony grooming that's a Saturday-only extra on top.

What can the kids actually do?
Feed the goats, chickens and ducks, do the nature hunt trail, play on the wood and tyre playground, or join an animal tour to meet the pigs and alpacas.
Is it buggy friendly?
It's on foot only to get in, and the ground is steep, uneven and can get slippery, so a sturdy buggy or a carrier might be the better bet.

Goat, chicken and duck feed is sold on site for £1 a bag. Don't bring your own food for them, only what they sell you.
