What it’s like

Pick a piece of pottery or a blank canvas and paint it yourself, from £10, with everything kiln-fired or finished on site.

You choose a piece, plain pottery or a canvas, and paint it however you like. The pottery gets kiln-fired afterwards, so what your seven-year-old paints on a Tuesday is not what they take home that day, which is worth knowing if a birthday's involved and timing matters. Canvas painting uses acrylics and you can go freehand or follow a guided design, though the guided sessions need booking ahead.

It suits ages 5 to 14 from what they list, and there's an Art Club running for that age range too if your child wants to go beyond a one-off visit. Pottery painting starts at £10, which feels fair for an hour of concentration and mess that isn't yours to clean up. The evening Paint and Prosecco sessions are a separate thing entirely, guided canvas at £30 or pottery at £14, clearly built for adults rather than a Tuesday afternoon with the kids.

Walk-ins are fine for the basics, but anything with a group bigger than four needs a phone call first, and the clay impression workshops are advance booking only. Opening hours are shorter on Tuesdays and Sundays (11am to 2pm) and longest on Saturdays (10am to 5pm), and they're closed Mondays altogether, so it's not a spontaneous rainy-Monday rescue. Birthday parties run for ages 5 and up, and there are hen and themed parties too if you're planning something bigger than a quiet paint session.

Walk-ins welcome. Groups larger than 4 must phone and book
Parties
Birthday parties for all ages 5+
  • Closed Mondays, so it's not a fallback for a rainy start to the week
  • Pottery pieces are kiln-fired, so you leave without the finished item
  • Groups of more than four need to phone and book ahead
  • Paint and Prosecco evenings are a separate adult session, not for kids
  • Hours can shift around studio bookings, so the times listed aren't fixed in stone

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Pottery painting starts at £10. The evening Paint and Prosecco sessions are £14 for pottery or £30 for guided canvas, but those are adult evenings rather than a family visit.

Do we need to book?

Walk-ins are welcome for standard pottery or canvas painting. Groups bigger than four need to phone ahead, and guided canvas or clay workshops need booking in advance.

What ages is it suitable for?

From 5 to 14, and there's an Art Club that runs across that same age range if your child wants to go regularly.

What are the opening hours?

Tuesdays and Sundays are short, 11am to 2pm. Wednesday to Friday it's 11am to 6pm, and Saturday is the longest day at 10am to 5pm. They're closed on Mondays.

Can we do a birthday party there?

Yes, birthday parties are available for ages 5 and up, along with hen parties and other themed sessions.

How long does a visit take?

Pottery painting is fired in a kiln afterwards, so you won't take the finished piece home the same day.

Can we just turn up?

For standard pottery or canvas painting, turning up works fine. Bigger groups and guided or workshop sessions need a call first.
