What it’s like
A Ranger brings 6 or 7 animals to you, reptiles, mammals and insects included, for a hands-on session rather than a farm visit.
This one's not a farm you visit, it's a Ranger who turns up with a set of animals for your event, so you're getting reptiles, mammals and invertebrates in your own space rather than trekking round pens. Kids get to hold, touch or just look at whatever comes out of the carrier, and the Ranger talks through each one as they go, which is a nice way of turning "ooh a snake" into something a bit more educational.
Nobody's forced to hold anything. If a seven-year-old wants to cuddle a chinchilla but leaves the room the second the tarantula appears, that's apparently fine, they can just wait it out and come back for the next one. That's a good rule for the ones who are curious but jumpy, and it takes the pressure off parents having to referee.
For parties they recommend at least 1.5 hours, which sounds about right once you factor in every child wanting a turn with each animal. One thing to flag: full payment is due 10 days before the booking, so this isn't something you can sort last minute or pay on the door. Sessions need booking in advance too, there's no just turning up.
Because the animals come to you, there's no real minimum age, and the site mentions they've done everything from christenings to care home visits, so a toddler at a birthday party is well within range. It's less about running about and more about sitting, watching and having a go, which actually suits littler ones who tire out fast at bigger attractions.

Plan your visit
How long does a session last?
For parties they recommend a minimum of 1.5 hours, enough time for everyone to get a proper go with the animals.
Do we need to book in advance?
Yes, and for parties full payment is required 10 days before the booking date.
What animals will we actually see?
It depends on your location and which Ranger covers it, but you'll get a mix of reptiles, mammals and invertebrates, usually 6 to 7 animals in a session.
Is it suitable for a toddler or a nervous child?
There's no minimum age and nobody has to touch or hold an animal they're not keen on. You can even leave the room until a particular animal's put away if it's not your thing.
