What it’s like

Wall-to-wall trampolines, giant airbags and slides for jumpers, with a softplay corner for the smaller ones.

The main hall is where it happens: wall-to-wall trampolines, battle beams, a wipeout run and giant airbags to launch yourself into. Kids old enough for the extreme slides and tumble tracks will head there first, and that's the bit they'll still be on about in the car home. Minimum jumping age is four, but there's a Toddler Takeover session for the 1 to 6 crowd and a softplay corner that keeps them away from the big bouncers.

Open Jump runs in 60, 90 or 120 minute blocks, from £15.45 up to £21.45. Softplay off-peak is a much easier £6.50, though it climbs to £9 at peak times, which is a decent chunk more for the same hour. Grip socks are compulsory and have to be the AirHop branded ones, so budget for those if nobody in the house owns a pair already, because you genuinely don't get past reception without them.

Arrive 30 minutes early. That's not a suggestion, it's how check-in and the safety briefing work, and missing it can cost you your slot. Booking isn't compulsory but weekends and holidays sell out regularly, so turning up on spec and hoping for the best is a gamble you'll probably lose on a Saturday. Parking's free with disabled spaces on site, and the café sells drinks, sandwiches and wraps, though you can't bring your own food in beyond a birthday cake for party rooms.

It gets warm in there once the trampolines are full and everyone's mid-bounce, so pack water if you're staying a full session. Under 5s need supervising throughout, and under 12s need a parent or guardian somewhere on site even if they're not glued to your side the whole time.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Open Jump is £15.45 for 60 minutes, rising to £21.45 for two hours. Softplay is cheaper, £6.50 off-peak, though it jumps to £9 at busier times.

Do we need to book?

Not strictly, but weekends and school holidays sell out and walk-ins get turned away once that happens. Book if you've got a fixed day in mind.

What age can jump?

Four is the minimum for the main trampolines. Under that, the Toddler Takeover session covers ages 1 to 6.

Do we need grip socks?

Yes, and they have to be AirHop's own branded ones, no other pair gets you in. Bring cash or a card for them if you don't have a set already.

How early should we arrive?

Thirty minutes before your session, no exceptions. Miss the briefing and you lose your slot.

Is there parking?

Free on site, with disabled bays included.

Can we bring our own food?

Only a birthday cake, and only into the party rooms. Everything else has to come from the café, which does drinks, sandwiches and wraps.

Is it accessible for wheelchairs?

Access varies by area of the park, and a companion ticket is free with valid disability documentation.

Do parents have to stay?

Under 12s need a parent or guardian on site, and under 5s need supervising throughout their session rather than just being dropped off.

Can spectators come in for free?

Spectators watch from the viewing areas at no cost, so grandparents or non-jumping siblings don't need a ticket.

Is there a weight limit?

General admission has a 21.5 stone limit. The Jump Tower also needs a minimum height of 1.2 metres.

Do birthday parties happen here?

They do, with party rooms available and bookings changeable up to seven days out if plans shift.
